Laura Fawaz is a photojournalist not only by degree, but mostly by passion. As a child, she would always take her mom's cameras to take pictures of anything and anyone. Her passion for photography grew in high school when she took her first official photography class and was introduced to working in the black and white darkroom.
Laura's custom work is equal between the photography portrait services, as well as her fine art gallery photography pieces. Each are best known for the attention to detail; weather its water droplets on flowers, or of the vibrant, colorful skyline of a spring sunrise, or a family portrait with the exact shade of the colors of fall for their natural background.
As for the portraits, Laura has a gift for capturing every smile and pose. Her quick eye and camera are no match for quick toddlers. She notices every seemingly simple detail that ends up bringing the photo together. All sessions are done at her home studio or on- site at a location of your choosing. Whether it’s in your home, backyard, a favorite park, college campus, or anywhere else you may have in mind. And if you can't think of a place, we have a few favorites in mind.
Born and raised in Michigan, Laura has a bachelor's degree from Oakland University in broadcast journalism, and a double minor in Studio Art, focus in photography, and Islamic Studies. She began her photographic career by simply noticing beautiful flowers, and printing them on canvas. From there, it led to photographing and enlarging photos her nieces and nephews, then sunrises and sunsets, waves crashing, and architecturally interesting buildings. All while taking professional photos at weddings, launch parties, engagements, birthday parties, and senior pictures.
While in college, Laura interned at WDIV-Detroit, and enjoyed the fast paced news scene, but especially enjoyed being out in the community doing interviews. From this, she covered such assignments as, the Detroit city elections, Pontiac Arts, Beats and Eats, the launch party of Angelaseye.com, and many others.
Currently, you will find fine art galleria style pieces from The World Captured (Laura) at the Art Is In Market stores in Laurel Park Place, Livonia, MI, and at Partridge Creek Mall, Clinton Twp., MI.
Laura still has a list of countries she'd like to dive herself into, so please stay turned for updates on the website. And for anyone who has any suggestion, we'd love to hear of what places you'd like to see Laura to go and photograph!
~ For every session there is un-limited colors to take advantage of and capture. ~
